Consistency

So I’ve been swamped this past month with some last minute projects, which motivated me to install the new studio panels that I’ve been neglecting to do . So last week, I mounted 10 new dmx studio panels and 2 new led fresnel lights. All of which are wirelessly controlled through a Rockville control board. In terms of setup using the controller cuts a lot of prep time so I can start shooting sooner. My buddy Ryan had written a short song about the studio so we decided to see how they looked on camera. I tried some basic lighting scenes and we shot this short video for Instagram in an hour.

Now I wouldn’t be using the large studio panels on programmed scenes and sequences more or less because when working on a cyclorama you want even and consistent lighting. The controller is better suited with spots, fresnels, and lights with rgb capability — which I plan on installing in the future.
For projects like this music video, “Feather” the controller came in handy in syncing the lights to music and lighting green screen for keying.
