Working with Giants

Last year I had the opportunity to shoot several product commercials and interviews with NFL Pro’s Logan Ryan and John Ross. We had several products to incorporate into an 8 hour shoot at 2 locations with minimal hands on set. Two weeks prior to shooting, our set designer Kory Diskin began building a replica of the Giants locker room using nothing more than insulation foam board that she meticulously cut, painted, and glued together. The final set blew us all away, even convincing both Ryan & Ross that they were at MetLife stadium. Conveniently, across the street was an indoor soccer field that was perfect for capturing Logan Ryan's performance & training. John Ross was to be shot the following day for a comedy skit, making use of his insane speed — while showcasing product benefits for his daily regiment.

We had to make use of limited hands on set by employing our social media manager for booming sound and our intern to handle product and shoot behind the scenes footage. Considering the budget, I was very proud with all of the resulting photo and video. It was a ton of fun working with everyone and vibing in-between takes. I hope to have such opportunities again in the future.

You can see how elaborate Kory’s setup was. She truly made the shoot a hit with her execution and attention to detail. She even added my name to one of the lockers, so technically I was a Giant for the day.
