Cars & Coffee @ Rally Point East

I recently attended Cars and Coffee at Rally Point East in West Hampton, and I was blown away by the variety of cars that showed up. From Pagani and Porsche to Mustangs and Corvettes. Also, the new Rally Point Café serves some incredible coffee. I would highly recommend trying the Senna and Schumacher lattes.
I had the opportunity to showcase my camera car and discuss some of the services and features with other attendees. The MX-5 may not be a complete head turner, but fully rigged with the stabilizer and camera, it definitely gets a lot of attention. A lot of folks were confused and curious as to what exactly the setup was for, which led to a decent amount of QR scans.

A few days after the show I consolidated power for the monitor, receiver, and focus control knob to plug right into the cars 12V power port. I still need to determine how much power the RS2 gimbal draws in order to consolidate it’s power, along with the camera and transmitter. For now, I’ll just keep those powered by my v-mount battery in the car.

My friend Ashley helped make the QR code the night before. Using a blank white magnet from a local crafts store, we cut out the code using the Cricut cutter on matte black vinyl and placed it on top of the magnet sheet. It even works great from a distance, which is a plus when I’m just driving around town

Over the next few months I’m aiming for a lot more car shows and meetups to step up awareness. I’ve been getting a few inquiries through email which is great. I think once I have some more footage to demo it’ll really get the ball rolling.
