AI Assist

By now, we’ve all heard about AI’s explosive growth and implementation into the real world. It’s evident that AI has real benefits, helping us save time and money in more ways than one. In the creative realm, AI has been introduced in numerous platforms like DALL-E and Adobe’s Photoshop to generate art and graphics from text prompts. Users input text descriptions to achieve a graphical generated output that can be modified and seamlessly integrated into photos or video. In a basic understanding, AI algorithms access the web to recognize shapes, patterns, colors, even identifying objects, organisms, and environments to generate it’s own output based on a combination of these factors.
As a video producer, I’ve used Adobe Photoshop and After Effects to add or change elements within a shot, removing unwanted objects, isolating color, tracking motion. Before AI, all of this would be a very time consuming process — but now, with Photoshop’s new generative expand rolling out of beta, I can and modify these elements in just one click. It’s a massively powerful tool and is a great “assist” in order to save time and meet deadlines. In these examples, you can see how I use AI to change backgrounds and and create overlay extensions for tracking.

I’m no Chef, but I enjoy cooking and sometimes take pictures of my food to see how I can improve. I wanted to see how AI can make my food look even better so I using text prompts, I replaced backgrounds and plates to mimic a restaurant menu. It’s not perfect, but it could be a great way for restaurants to market daily menus in a pinch.
