2018 is moving pretty fast, and with truMedic's flagship retail store set to open April 5th, resources have been limited at HQ to work on the studio. Kingsparkstudios.com is now up but will be completely redesigned once all of our sets are completed for a video showcase. We're currently finalizing studio branding and content to properly demonstrate the facilities full capability.
We recently acquired the DJI Mavic Pro to get some aerial shots of the building. The Mavic Pro is a pretty amazing device in my opinion, considering it's compact form, ease of use, and camera quality. I remember when I built my own quadcopter a few years ago using an F450 frame running arducopter. It had a small gimbal to hold a gopro and a 5GHz video transmitter to fly first person and record video simultaneously. I never fully completed calibrating or customizing the flight settings so the most insurance I had when flying was a single "return to home" button should I lose sight of the aircraft. It did have GPS but it was never as accurate or reliable as the Mavic's so far. I'm also impressed with the DJI app, which has the ability to orbit an object as well as "follow me" mode and "active tracking". All of these smart features I've found useful rather than gimmicky, which is not what I thought initially. Given how fun this thing is I suspect 2018 will be packed full of additional aerial work since I'll be bringing this little guy everywhere I go.
