A Montauk Micro-Film

Late last year I borrowed my friend’s homemade anamorphic lenses for a day out at Camp Hero in Montauk with my girlfriend. The trails running along the bluffs and beaches make for some great shooting. I shot on the Blackmagic 6K Pocket and DJI RS2 stabilizer — I believe this was prior upgrading BRAW to Gen5 so the LUT I applied required some correction to look right. I wanted to see how well the RS2 was able to cope with the heavier anamorphics and whether or not it would be a practical setup . I ended up purchasing my own 1.5x anamorphic adapter from Aivascope having loved it’s unique image characteristics.

BRAW footage before and after adding an Arri P6K LUT, composited F-18 flying over the beach & bullet holes in the windshield.

Originally, I had no intensions of tracking this shot in post but Mocha handled it pretty well.

I applied some overall sharpening since the image was soft due to the taking lens not being perfectly in-focus. I’m pretty happy with the look otherwise.
